As far as fantastic predictions of the future, yes radio is mentioned and basically 'moving pictures' reporting with even RSS feeds but the predicted timeline is only off by about 980 years (900 for Rss) and even in the distant 2889 humans have not only failed to leave the planet we haven't even gotten satellites up and still know nothing of the far side of the moon.

However it was quite enjoyable and fairly interesting to see whichever Verne it actually was attempt the task once more.I always enjoy reading about how those in the past viewed the future. It is interesting now, 123 years after publication, to consider what the Vernes, pere et fils, viewed for 1000 years into the future. Mamma Mia! Since AIP had already registered the "In the Year 2889" title, it was tacked onto the Buchanan film.
