The Brothers Grimm arrive at the home of a wealthy Grande Dame who speaks of the many legends surrounding the fable of the cinder girl before telling the "true" story of her ancestor. Melanie Lynskey and Megan Dodds are compelling as the good (yes, that's a switch) and evil step-sisters, and Timothy West and Judy Parfitt are compulsively watchable as the unhappily, but well-, matched king and queen. The only thing I don't like about this film - is that it is too unique and left me wishing more fairy tales had been covered in this way! Like I mentioned before this was a 1 time see movie, so many ups and downs, emotions, I had to watch a comedy movie after this!!
