I will never EVER EVER book through orbitz again. Told me that they are not going to pay extra for flights if there is difference. After being on hold for an excessive amount of time, I finally was able to get assurance that we had a credit with Orbitz. Please note that booking through the hotel directly was cheaper than booking through Orbitz.com. First he said that "Instant Discount codes were for a future Bahamas trip I need to book and use", then I argued with him and he said, "your $250 discount was already taken off your total package.". BEWARE ! Had to speak to a manager for an hour and half arguing until they finally agreed to refund me for their mistake. It’s not always the cheapest. They treat their customers horribly. If you decide to buy insurance through Orbitz it doesn't mean anything! I would like to give zero or -10. Our nightmare is still not over. I had to cancel everything. We came to American Airlines counter and employee tells us our flight was changed. Now its outsourced to somewhere in South East Asia... these so called "employees" plays all the tricks in their book to deceive you. I called them, but couldn’t get hold to anyone. I don't want a credit for a future flight that I won't take. Like I'd have any pull to force them to refund the money. Only limited flights for use with credits even though booking 1 year in advance. We still have to call back to get our actual seat numbers closer to the time of our trip, which we are dreading. Seriously. Just horrid. Lesson one learned is you cannot use the passport card for flying. They told me it must be my bank holding up the refund. "to make sure she was still there.... No answer.... Orbitz used to be a great compan with American customer service. When I finally spoke to someone they said they could not change my trip dates but can issue a refund. They will credit your orbitz account/or united. I asked for refund but this how I am treated. I booked flight ticket to Korea from US. Oh by the way it has to be with the same airline along with the people on the ticket. I was crying, very upset, and stressful. He said he is the only employee currently working in the hotel and answering phones and that he had not received a call from anyone all day trying to cancel. I booked a flight trough Orbitz but discovered it was cancelled on the day I was to check in. I looked and said that is okay as it gives me one hour between each flight. And then other times we were told that they would call us back after contacting the airline, and they never did. Orbitz is not willing to refund the difference in fare or do anything for us. Had airfare to Italy canceled due to Covid-19. All they kept saying is, "We are not charging you a change fee". I received an email a few hours later that said they had contacted the hotel, and they were not giving refunds for a trip that far in advance yet (3 weeks). Orbitz customer service is horrid. It has been absolutely the worst experience imaginable. When called they said hotel changed without taking any responsibility. You are much better off booking directly with the airline directly as Orbitz is worthless. Due to CORONAVIRUS, they are supposed to accept modification or cancellation. Today I finally got through to their telephone and was put on hold for 1 hour!!! I booked a flight from Spokane to Seattle for my wife and I 3 weeks ago on Alaska Air. I called Orbitz and was put on hold for 45 minutes until I finally got a person. They didn't even contact the airline in that time, even though they said they were. We have to call Orbitz. Can you believe that hotel/resort that is not even open, that fraudulently listed rooms as available on Orbitz when the resort was actually closed - booked through orbitz, is not providing any refund? I selected air through Delta and Comfort Inn Suites in Nassau (Paradise Island). They charged me extra to use my Redeem airline credit when my flight was cancelled due to covid. Refund is in "Pending" status for 2 weeks. Other times we would call and be told that they would have to contact the airline while putting me on hold, and I was disconnected. I called Orbitz. I bought tickets with them and they should notify me.?! Of course tickets is so expensive to buy on same day but they could get find us tickets as it was their mistake. They don’t solve anything. Boy was I WRONG. I can. We had to call the support service to try to reschedule, and at first, we were given 6 months to rebook and complete the trip from the original dates. I spoke to a woman who assured me that she would file a complaint and somebody would get back up with me. Their phone# was literally down aka not available! From now on I am going to treat Orbitz the way I did Best Buy back in the day when we all went to Best Buy, looked things over and then bought at Amazon or some other web provider. We are still waiting and now Orbitz says we will only get a hotel coupon, breaking their agreement with us for a full refund. When I called and asked they said," you signed for $534 we can't charge any more than that. " On June 10th orbitz sent me email to say my returning flights hours was changed. It’s almost the price to fly from Sea to Hawaii. He insisted that my only recourse was to call United that he could not make the change. So that forces me to call the Philippine call center and get someone who insists on reading from a script and quoting me much more money to change a flight.
