The son of a murdered dissident republican chief was gunned down outside his west Belfast home on Saturday for providing the getaway car used in the killing of Dublin hitman Robbie Lawlor.His assassins were acting on the orders of gangland figures in the south with connections to slain contract killer Robbie Lawlor.They were told that he provided the getaway car used by the killers of the notorious 36-year-old mob boss, who was murdered while collecting a drugs debt in the Ardoyne area of Belfast in April.Warren’s father Tommy Crossan, a Continuity IRA leader, was executed by rival dissident republicans at a west Belfast fuel depot in April 2014 following a fall-out over cash.Unwilling to learn from his dad’s mistakes he immersed himself in crime, running cocaine and stolen car rings from a base in the village of Crumlin, Co Antrim.It was there just hours after the Lawlor murder in April that he was arrested, with heavily armed police also raiding the property in St James’ where he was shot dead outside on Saturday.Crossan was freed without charge, but his card was marked.

The man who is the chief suspect of the murder of 17-year-old Keane Mulready-Woods was shot and killed in Belfast.Robbie Lawlor, 35, was shot several times and died in the garden of a house on Etna Drive, Ardoyne, Belfast just before 12pm on Saturday morning.The Dublin criminal is the chief suspect for the murder of Drogheda native Mulready-Woods who was murdered and then dismembered.He is also from Co Meath and is well known to gardai for his involvement in serious organised crime.He has had over 100 previous convictions and was most recently released from prison in December 2019.Lawlor collapsed in the front garden of a house on Saturday morning after being shot several times before a local man jumped over a wall to his aid.The man later told officers that the victim wasn’t breathing and was covered in blood.Reportedly Lawlor travelled up north with others to carry out a ‘hit’.Police have confirmed that he was pronounced dead at the scene and three men have been arrested in connection with the shooting.‘This was a brutal killing and I believe the man was shot a number of times at close range,’ said Detective Superintendent Jason Murphy.‘I am astounded by the recklessness of the killer or killers.
